- 1 kilo pork cut to 1 inch cube
- 1 small can pineapple tidbits
- 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. MSG or vetsin
- 2 large onions cubed
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 small bell peppers cubed
- 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch dissolve in 3 Tbsp. water
- 1 Tbsp. catsup
- few stalks of spring onions cut 1 1/2 inch long
How to cook pork with pineapple supreme:
Fry pork and garlic together in butter. Brown a little and add onions.
After 3 minutes, season with soy sauce.
Stir for another 3 minutes, then pour in pineapple juice (drained from tidbits) and 1/2 cup water.
Add MSG and salt. Cover and simmer over low fire until tender.
Thicken sauce with dissolved cornstarch. Lastly, add catsup, pineapple tidbits and bell peppers.
When it boils remove immediately from pan. Garnish with spring onions.
Cooking Tips:
Perfectly Tender Pork
To ensure your pork turns out tender and juicy, make sure to cook it on medium heat. Avoid overcrowding the pan; this allows the pork to brown evenly and absorb the flavors from the garlic and onions. Simmering the pork slowly in the pineapple juice mixture helps it become tender and flavorful.
Balancing Sweetness and Tanginess
Adjust the sweetness and tanginess of the sauce by tasting and tweaking as you go. If the sauce needs more sweetness, add a touch of extra catsup or pineapple juice. For a tangier kick, consider a splash of vinegar or a little more pineapple juice to enhance the balance.
Thickening the Sauce
For a perfectly thickened sauce, mix cornstarch with a small amount of cold water to create a slurry before adding it to the dish. Stir the slurry into the simmering sauce gradually, allowing it to thicken without clumping. Remove the pan from heat as soon as the sauce reaches your desired consistency to avoid over-thickening.
