Score the the chicken fillet about half an inch apart. Score the fillet creating a mesh design.
Put flour on a deep plate and dredge the chicken fillet until all sides are coated with the flour.
Heat 3 Tbsp. of butter or margarine in a frying pan. Put the chicken fillet in the pan and fry it in medium heat until all sides are brown.
When the chicken is brown season with salt and pepper then set it aside the pan and add garlic and saute until fragrant.
Add honey and stir. Let it simmer until the sauce is reduced to half and very thick.
Flip the fillet a few times until it is well coated with the sauce. Garnish it with chopped onion and serve hot with the side dish (buttered corn and carrots)
To make the side dish, heat pan and melt 1 Tbsp. of butter or margarine. Add the corn kernels and chopped carrots and stir for 3 minutes in medium low heat.
Cooking Tips:
Perfectly Tender Chicken
To ensure your chicken breast stays tender and juicy, start by pounding it to an even thickness. This helps the chicken cook evenly and prevents it from drying out. Always cook it over medium heat to avoid burning the honey garlic sauce before the chicken is fully cooked.
Balancing the Flavors
For a well-balanced sauce, taste and adjust the sweetness and saltiness as you cook. If the honey is too overpowering, add a splash of vinegar or lemon juice to brighten the flavor. Conversely, if it’s too tangy, a bit more honey can help achieve the right balance.
Glaze It Right
To get a glossy glaze on your chicken, simmer the sauce until it thickens and coats the back of a spoon. Brush the reduced sauce over the chicken during the last few minutes of cooking to caramelize it. Be careful not to add the sauce too early, as it can burn and become bitter.
