Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken breast Debone and remove the skin
  • 1 cup Japanese bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp fine salt or to taste
  • 1 tsp. black pepper powder or to taste
  • 1 raw egg

For coating

  • Japanese bread crumbs
  • cornstarch
  • raw egg beaten

Instructions

How to Cook Chicken Cordon Bleu Balls

  • Debone the chicken breast and remove the skin. Slice the chicken breast and put in a food processor and grind the chicken meat.
  • Transfer to a mixing bowl and add raw egg, salt, pepper and bread crumbs. Mix the ingredients until well combined.
  • Knead the mixture using your hands until smooth.
  • Wet your hands then scoop 2 to 3 tablespoon of the mixture and form into a ball.
  • Press a small slice of ham and cheese on the center of the ball then form the ball again until it becomes a sphere.
  • Do the same procedure on the rest of the chicken mixture.
  • Prepare 3 bowls containing beaten egg, cornstarch, bread crumbs.
  • Dip each balls first in egg, then dredge in cornstarch, dip again in the egg, then coat with bread crumbs.
  • Heat cooking oil in a deep pan then fry the balls until golden brown.
  • Remove from pan and transfer to a wire rack to drain excess oil.
  • Serve with catsup or sweet chili sauce.
