This is a unique steamed chicken recipe using coconut water. But you will still use water for streaming the chicken on it’s final procedure. Coconut water is used to simmer the chicken to infuse the flavor and enhance the taste. It is also served in coconut shell with the coconut meat still n the shell.
To cook steamed chicken in coconut water; Heat cooking oil and saute onions in oil until transparent. Add chicken and water chestnuts. Add buko water and simmer until chicken is soft. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer the mixture into buko shell and steam for 10 minutes. Serve hot, garnished with onion leeks.
How to Cook Steamed Chicken in Coconut Water
Ingredients
- 2 pcs whole chicken breasts cooked and cut as desired
- 2 tsp cooking oil
- 1 pc onion chopped
- 4 pcs water chestnut sliced
- buko water from 4 young coconuts
- 2 tsp fine salt
- 1/4 tsp white ground pepper
- 4 fresh young coconuts meat intact in shell
- 1 pc onion leek sliced diagonally
