This pork chops recipe is a very simple and tasty dish. It is somehow a pork chop version of pork bistek or pork steak. Then ingredients are almost the same as the pork bistek I just used pork chops instead. The reason is I just want to experiment is there will be a difference in taste compared to using tenderloin or pork shoulder. What I discovered is, it is a lot tastier maybe because I like pork chops but I think the real reason is the proportion of fat, skin and meat. Anyway you just have to try it and see for yourself if what I’m telling you is true.
Unlock the Flavor of Pork Chops
Delight your taste buds with a twist on the classic bistek using succulent pork chops. This delectable dish is a culinary adventure that combines the rich flavors of pork with the savory goodness of bistek. Let’s dive into the step-by-step guide to crafting a mouthwatering pork chops dish that will have your family and friends asking for seconds.
Preparation Magic: Tenderizing and Marinating the Pork Chops
To begin this culinary journey, start by tenderizing the pork chops using a meat mallet or the back of a knife. This step not only ensures tenderness but also helps the marinade penetrate the meat, infusing it with flavor.
Now, make distinctive slits about 1 inch apart on the pork chops’ skin. This simple yet crucial step allows the marinade to seep into the meat, ensuring every bite is packed with flavor.
In a mixing bowl, create the marinade by combining soy sauce, calamansi juice, liquid seasoning, garlic, sugar, black pepper, and Magic Sarap. Stir this flavorful concoction until the sugar completely dissolves, creating a harmonious blend of sweet, salty, and tangy notes.
Immerse the pork chops in this marinade, ensuring each piece is generously coated. Let them marinate for at least 2 hours, allowing the flavors to meld and infuse into the meat.
Golden Perfection: Frying the Pork Chops
Once the pork chops have absorbed the marinade’s goodness, it’s time to bring them to life in the frying pan. Heat cooking oil to perfection and fry the marinated pork chops until they achieve a mouthwatering golden brown hue. This process not only seals in the flavors but also imparts a delightful crispiness to the exterior of the chops.
After frying, set the golden-brown pork chops aside, their tantalizing aroma filling the kitchen with the promise of a delicious meal.
Onion Elegance: Stir-Frying the Onions
In the same pan, take your culinary adventure to the next level by stir-frying onions until they become beautifully wilted. This step adds a sweet and savory dimension to the dish, complementing the robust flavors of the pork chops.
Simmering Symphony: Bringing it All Together
Return the golden pork chops to the pan and pour in the marinade, adding a cup of water. Bring this symphony of flavors to a gentle boil, allowing the ingredients to meld into a mouthwatering sauce.
Lower the heat and let the magic happen as the pork chops simmer for approximately 30 minutes, or until they reach a succulent tenderness. This slow cooking process allows the flavors to intensify, creating a dish that is truly unforgettable.
Finishing Touch: Onions, Water, and Sugar
In the final act of this culinary masterpiece, add the stir-fried onions back into the pan, allowing them to dance with the pork chops for an additional minute. Adjust the sauce to your liking by adding more water or sugar if needed, ensuring the perfect balance of flavors.
As the pork chops reaches its crescendo, the tantalizing aroma will beckon you to the dining table. Serve this delectable creation hot, and watch as your family and friends savor every bite, their taste buds tingling with delight.
